Just a thought (s)

so right now in class we are discussing how to parent an adolescent and it really got me thinking about how i was as a teenager. unfortunately, i was quite a handful for my parents and i think i drove them insane. I constantly pushed boundary after boundary and decided when i was 16 that i was the most independent person ever and could conquer anything on my own.

4 years later, i think just the opposite. I didnt really realize it til now, but i still need my parents for a lot of things. they still support me on a financial level 100% and without them i would not be attending college right now. Though i do make my own decisions on a day-to-day basis, i think adolescents now need to start thinking more about their relatiionships with their parents then i ever did when i was 16.
