power struggle

In divorced households the rules can often become very confusing. My father was more strict than my mom and the rules often shifted between households. There were things that I could get away with at one household that I could not at the other. This was very confusing and was often a source of argument between my parents and I. This unintentionally caused fights between my mother and father and I would accidentally play them against one another. From experience I know it is better for the parents to have a mutual understanding and an agreement.
