Don't be dumb...

I totally agree with what ebak wrote. The movie Hitch does make some good points. Mr. Prof (is it bad I can't remember his name?) told us that the movie isn't truly correct that in the end not all guys have a chance with someone due to physical connection and compatibility. The movie is about creating opportunities to meet someone and at least have an opportunity with someone, not about marrying the person, just about getting that opportuinty to meet them. Many men do approach women with a horrible approach. For example, pick up lines don't work. Guys don't be dumb, I work at a bar and watch it on a daily basis and it makes me laugh. Girls if you don't like a guy be polite about it and contrary to popular belief not all guys want to date you and some are looking for a new friend.

I definitely agree with you about "Hitch" how it was more about creating the opportunity where you are able to meet that person and possibly get the chance for that relationship to go farther. Unfortunately not everyone is compatible with each, and that's just how it goes sometimes. But in my own experiences romantic relationships seem to last longer and be healthier when the two people involved were just friends first. This allows you to truly get to know the other person for who they are without them (or you) feeling that you have to act differently to get them to like you. This way you know if you're compatible with that person before you even get involved with them.
