Cris is an amazing speaker, I'm glad we had the opportunity to listen to his presentation. He is funny and he had the whole class very interested. He talked about the situation in which homeless people are put into; abuse, drugs, alcohol, prostitution and he talked about other very interesting issues that concern the city. We don't realize this is happening in Lincoln. He showed us some pictures of homeless people living under bridges, around newspapers and trash; he showed some pictures of people that did drugs and how they look after months of using them. The program CEDARS for whom Cris works help people that are homeless (There are more programs available). They provide them with supplies, a shelter, mentors, they help them get back in track, it takes some people a while or sometimes they reject the help and some immediately accept it. Cris loves his job and with his presentation it motivates people to help. Its a good place to do voluntary work, help our community and the most important thing is to serve people that need our help.
