for our lecture today we had someone come from CEDARS, a youth program that deals with at-risk youth, runaway youths, and homeless youths. I found it interesting that a lot of these kids who runaway or are homeless are put in these positions because of drugs and sexual abuse. I figured a lot of homeless people were homeless because of just an unlucky financial situation or mental health problems, not something like drugs.
I think it is great that lincoln offers a program like this for kids. It really can help put the pieces back together in some ones life and it is necessary to do so. A lot of kids lose guidance and need help to get their lives on track. THis program is what some see has a gift.
