Family Authority

I thought it was interesting to learn about patterns of family authority.  In my house, my mom is the one that is ultimately "in charge".  My dad would never give me permission to do something without making sure it was ok with my mom.  My mom was also the one that punished us kids.  I can't remember ever getting in trouble by my dad.  I think that matriarchy authority family is opposite of what seems "normal" to most people, but it worked out great in my family.  I think it's important to know who is the authority figure in families when you are working with them, so you know who to talk with about the kids behaviors for example, and how they are being punished.
